Funding for School and Community Readings

Have you been hoping to invite me to your class or public event, but are unsure of how to fund a visit? Here are two programs that could help:

National Public Readings (NPR) Program

With the assistance of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Union’s NPR program provides funding for in-person or live virtual public author readings across Canada. Learn more about NPR

Ontario Writers-in-the-Schools (WITS)

Supported by the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario, the Union’s WITS program provides funding for in-person or live virtual author presentations in Ontario’s schools. Learn more about WITS

Events must take place between April 1 and August 31, 2025.
Deadline to apply: February 17, 2025, 11:59 pm EST.
Applications received usually exceed available funding and it may not be possible to fund all applications.
